Traveling today can be fun as well

I guess, there are no people who don’t like travelling- it’s just impossible! Unfortunately, today we are constrained by the current situation with the pandemic and cannot move freely wherever we want but we should stay optimistic and believe that the situation will soon change for the better and we will get a chance to explore cultures and people all over the world first hand. Until that moment, all of us can be armchair travelers by binge watching travel blogs of seasoned travelers or enjoying some shows on TV or Youtube.

Honestly, I can perfectly relate to those who would say that this isn’t even close to a real journey but even in this variety of “trips” you can find some benefits. First of all, you don’t have to save up for months to go to the country you dream of visiting. As long as you have a TV or gadget with a strong Internet connection, you can explore the farthest places of the world for a monthly fee of app. $10. To get a feel for a country you are having a “virtual trip” to, I suggest cooking or ordering some staple foods of this country to accompany the viewing. For instance, if you decide to travel to Sicily (Italy) you’re mostly welcome to order a mouth-watering pizza or cook it yourself, using the tips of locals. Don’t forget to wash it down with a glass of your favorite wine. Secondly, “home traveling” allows you to stay safe and sound physically as well as mentally. In other words, by travelling vicariously you avoid long hauls, jet legs, red tape and so on. Also, you don’t have to risk your life bungee jumping, eating some exotic fruit or fish and swimming near unpredictable marine creatures who can harm you. Lastly, these mini trips all round the world let you travel with your friends and relatives despite their business, budget or family condition. Everyone can spare at least an hour for a journey in a company of a best friend.

I hope that everyone finds his or her pros of staying home this year to protect the family from extra worries and health problems. All of us should look at the bright side of today and aspire to make the cherished real-life travelling plans come true next year.
